History of SJK ( C ) Sungai Chua BM


Sejarah Penubuhan

Pekan Sungai Chua ialah sebuah pekan yang kecil pada masa dahulu, penduduknya adalah tidak ramai ,dengan tidak melebihi seratus keluarga.  Disebabkan adanya lombong bijih timah yang banyak maka pekan ini dinamakan “ Xi Mi  Shan” yang membawa erti bukit bijih timah dalam bahasa Cina.
  Terdapat dua buah sekolah sebelum perang dunia kedua iaitu Sekolah Lok Yoke dan Sekolah Chong Hwa.   Sekolah Lok Yoke ditubuhkan oleh mubaligh sejak 67 tahun dulu dan merupakan sekolah yang pertama.  Akibat perselisihan faham, Sekolah Chong Hwa pula didirikan 3 tahun kemudian.
  Pada tahun 1948, undang-undang darurat dikuatkuasakan dan kawasan ini telah diisytiharkan sebagai kawasan perkampungan baru.  Bilangan penduduknya bertambah daripada 3000 kepada 6000 orang.  Bilangan murid telah meningkat tiga kali ganda bilangan murid yang asal.  Memandangkan keadaan yang mendesak ini maka digabungkan sekolah Lok Yoke dan Chong Hwa dengan nama Sekolah Pooi Hwa iaitu nama asal sekolah ini.  Pada 12 Mei 1952, sekali lagi nama sekolah ditukar menjadi SJK ( C ) Sungai Chua oleh kerajaan semasa hinggalah ke hari ini.
  Pada 18 September 1954, sekolah ini dibuka dengan rasmi oleh Pegawai Daerah Hulu Langat iaitu En. Govis.  Tarikh tersebut telah dijadikan Hari Ulangtahun Sekolah setiap tahun. 
  Semenjak tahun 1952, Jawatankuasa Pembinaan Sekolah telah berusaha untuk melengkapkan sekolah ini.  Pada tahun 1990, SJK ( C ) Sungai Chua telah ada 12 buah bilik darjah, sebuah dewan dan sebuah bilik muzik.  Pada tahun 1991, Jawatankuasa Pembinaan Sekolah yang diketuai oleh En. Kong Siew Tow telah membina sebuah bangunan  empat tingkat dengan 18 buah bilik darjah.  Derma sebanyak RM 70,000 telah dikutip dari orang ramai.  Bangunan baru ini siap sepenuhnya dua tahun kemudian.
  Kerajaan telah memberi peruntukan sebanyak RM 27,000 bagi pembinaan bangunan 2 tingkat yang mengandungi 6 buah bilik darjah.  Pada tahun 1994, sebuah kantin telah didirikan.  Penambahan pembinaan Bilik Pergigian dan Bilik Kemahiran Hidup untuk meningkatkan kesihatan dan akademik murid.
  Pada tahun 1995,projek pembinaan sebuah bangunan 4 tingkat yang mengandungi dewan, bilik guru besar, bilik guru, pusat sumber dan bilik mesyuarat telah dilaksanakan.  Kos pembinaan adalah sebanyak RM 1.2 juta.  Kelengkapan begini adalah moden pada ketika itu.  Dengan kelengkapan dan kemudahan yang disediakan, SJK ( C ) Sungai Chua berharap dapat meningkatkan prestasi kurikulum dan kokurikulum murid-murid pada masa akan datang.
